The Blackmagic Video Assist 5” 12G HDR adds professional monitoring and recording to SDI or HDMI cameras in HD, Ultra HD, 2K and 4K DCI formats. Its super bright 2500-nit 5-inch HDR monitor features 3D LUTs, professional scopes, focus assist and exposure tools for accurately setting focus, exposure and framing. The built-in SD card recorder saves broadcast-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNx formats, allowing files to be edited immediately without conversion.
For professional video production in Qatar, the monitor provides a 1920 x 1080 display with P3 wide color gamut and HDR support for HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma. Connectivity includes Micro BNC SDI input and output, HDMI 2.0a input and output, a 3.5mm headphone jack and one UHS-II SD slot. USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 supports external drive recording, webcam output, setup, software updates and Video Assist Utility control.
The Blackmagic Video Assist 5” 12G HDR supports SDI rates from 270Mb through 12G and handles HD, Ultra HD, 2K DCI and 4K DCI standards. Recording options include Blackmagic RAW Constant Bitrate and Constant Quality formats, Apple ProRes 422 variants and DNxHR formats. Integrated Blackmagic OS provides touchscreen controls, while Waveform, RGB Parade, Vector and RGB Histogram scopes assist with monitoring. SDI and HDMI also support start/stop and timecode control.
The unit uses an external 12V power supply and is compatible with Sony NP-F style batteries. It supports operating temperatures from 0° to 40° C, storage temperatures from -20° to 45° C and 0% to 90% non-condensing humidity. The package includes the universal power supply, NP-F series battery USB charger and camera monitor/recorder.
