Teranex Mini HDMI to Optical 12G converts HDMI video to SDI and SMPTE optical fiber, enabling long-distance transmission of professional video and embedded audio for broadcast workflows in Qatar. It supports optional 3G, 6G or 12G-SDI optical SFP modules, allowing the converter to match different optical fiber requirements.

The unit features one HDMI 2.0 Type A input supporting up to 2160p60 and one 12G-SDI output. An optional optical SFP output automatically matches the SD, HD and 12G-SDI HDMI video input. It supports automatic switching between SD, HD, 2K and 4K formats, with optical output standards covering SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K DCI.

For audio connectivity, the converter provides two channels of professional balanced analog audio through XLR connectors and four channels of professional 110Ω balanced digital audio through XLR connectors. The right XLR can be configured for timecode input, while up to 16 channels of embedded audio are supported.

SDI video rates are switchable between standard definition, HD Level A and Level B 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI. It supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 sampling, with YUV 4:2:2 and RGB 4:4:4 in HD, 2K and 4K. HDMI input supports REC 601 and REC 709 color spaces.

USB and Ethernet provide configuration and software upgrades on Mac and Windows systems. Basic settings can be adjusted using mini switches or the free software utility, while an optional Smart Panel adds an LCD, rotary knob and six settings buttons.
