The HID OMNIKEY 5025CL Contactless Card Reader is designed for secure employee authentication, workstation access, and credential-based applications in Bahrain. It enables organisations to use existing HID Prox physical access cards for compatible computer and network login workflows, helping extend the use of established credentials without requiring employees to carry separate cards.
Operating at 125 kHz, the OMNIKEY 5025CL reads the unique identification number from compatible HID Prox cards and credentials. Its contactless tap-and-go operation provides a convenient way to authenticate users, while an optional card holder supports permanent card-present operation for suitable applications. Compatibility with the OMNIKEY 5325 CL family also helps organisations replace existing readers, subject to the required driver updates.
The reader connects through a USB 2.0 full-speed Type-A interface and is powered directly by the USB connection. Native CCID support and PC/SC compatibility simplify integration with supported computer systems, thin clients, and zero clients. HID provides driver support for compatible Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, while the product is also certified under the Works With Chromebook programme and recognised as IGEL Ready.
Its compact housing measures 59 × 59 × 11.4 mm and weighs approximately 100 g, making it suitable for space-constrained desks, reception counters, and corporate workstations. The standard housing features a light-grey body and anthracite cover, with optional cover colours and mounting accessories available. An LED provides status indication during use.
The OMNIKEY 5025CL is suitable for corporate offices, healthcare facilities, production floors, and other environments that require convenient credential-based access to supported applications.
