With 10G Ethernet on the Blackmagic Studio Converter and Blackmagic Studio Camera Pro, you can connect all camera signals using one Ethernet IP link connection. That means the camera feed, return program feed, timecode, reference, tally, talkback and control are all sent down the single cable. That's the same benefits of SMPTE fiber, but the standard 10G copper Ethernet cable is much lower cost. The Blackmagic Studio Converter allows breakout of all the video, audio and talkback connections at the studio end. The converter provides two SDI video inputs, two SDI video outputs and one SDI monitor output, with support for 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI rates. It also includes timecode and reference connections, with Tri-Sync or Black Burst support for professional studio workflows.
For audio, the unit supports two-channel analog program audio, a 6.35mm headphone output and multiple SDI audio channels. Talkback is supported through dedicated SDI channels and an RJ-45 connector for analog external talkback systems.
A 2.2-inch color LCD with seven control buttons and a spin knob provides convenient device and menu control. The converter features a 10Gb/s PoE RJ-45 camera connection for SMPTE fiber-style workflows over Cat 6A cable, plus 1Gb/s Ethernet for external control and software updates.
