Teranex Express is a professional real-time standards converter designed for SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD broadcast workflows in Oman. It provides high-quality 10-bit conversions with advanced processing for up conversion, down conversion, cross conversion and SD/HD/UHD standards conversion. Variable and fixed aspect ratio conversion, noise reduction, cadence detection, scene cut detection, color correction and proc amp control are built into the system.
The converter features dual SDI inputs and outputs with support for 10-bit SD, HD, 2K, 3G HD, 6G and 12G Ultra HD formats. It also provides reclocked SDI loop outputs and supports dual-link operation for compatible 3G and 6G formats. Quad SDI output is available for SMPTE 435-1 Quad HD Split, while optional optical fiber connectivity supports 10-bit SD, HD, 3G HD, 2K and Ultra HD video and up to 16 channels of audio.
Teranex Express supports 16 channels of SDI audio input and output, with 48kHz 24-bit television-standard audio. Dolby AC-3 pass through is supported in all conversions, while Dolby E pass through is supported except during video frame rate conversions. VITC/ATC timecode, Black Burst or Tri-level sync reference, closed captioning and video indexing metadata are also supported.
The system provides real-time hardware color space conversion, adjustable scaling and aspect ratio processing, plus SMPTE test patterns. USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity support software updates, remote control and configuration, while the front panel includes illuminated buttons, status LEDs and an LCD menu.
