The Sensormatic Synergy 1170 ABS Pedestal System is a self-contained electronic article surveillance (EAS) solution designed to help retailers protect merchandise and manage shoplifting risks in Kuwait. Also known as the Sensormatic Synergy 2.5 Self-Contained Pedestal, it uses Sensormatic AM technology to detect protected merchandise passing through the monitored entrance and alert store staff.
With detection coverage of up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft) between pedestals, the system supports retail entrances that require reliable merchandise protection. Its onboard electronics are housed in the main pedestal, eliminating the need for a separate external controller. Integrated audio and visual alarms notify employees when a security event occurs. Customizable alarm tones and LED indicators can help staff distinguish different events.
Constructed from ABS material, the pedestal features a cool grey or charcoal finish. It measures approximately 165 cm (65 inches) in height and 41.9 cm (16.5 inches) in width, with a weight of 7.18 kg (15.85 lbs), excluding base covers. It is suitable for garment stores, jewellery shops, bookstores and stationery retailers, cosmetics outlets, and electronics stores.
The system supports compatible Sensormatic AM sensors and accessories, including Ranger, Satellite, and Amorphous Core antennas. Optional capabilities include embedded people-counting sensors, metal-foil detection, jammer detection, network connectivity, remote alarms, and an advertising upgrade kit. Depending on the selected configuration, these options can provide shopper-traffic insights, identify interference attempts, and help staff respond to security events.
Tags-too-close detection can help reduce unnecessary service calls and preserve usable selling-floor space near the pedestals. Compatibility, optional modules, and installation requirements should be confirmed before purchase to ensure the system meets the store's entrance layout and security needs.
